Charlotte van der Gaag(b. 1994) is a Dutch photographer based in the Netherlands and Mexico. A combination of an international childhood, a father who shot and developed black and white analogue photos and a deep interest for humanity and why we are who we are has lead to a path of seeking connection and understanding through the medium photography. Her work consists mainly of portraits, documentary stories/reportages and travel. Authenticity, strength and beauty are important elements in her way of seeing and working.
One of her most shaping projects has been ‘Casa Frida’, a portrait and documentary project following a group of young people part of the LGBT+ community that take refuge in a refugee house in the outskirts of Mexico City.

Charlotte shoots digitally and analogue, with 35mm and 120 film medium format.
